Longwood Village

A home with great bones and challenges would reveal it’s full potential after a full-scale remodel. The design was influenced by our travels and the pieces we’d collected throughout the years because this was a unique project— our home. We desired to create an entirely updated space that would be timeless and put our furnishings and artwork center stage. Using an easy color palette of neutrals and blues, with touches of color throughout breathed new life back into our fresh and efficient home.

What were the specific challenges and priorities for this project?

We removed angled walls to gain usable square footage in adjoining bedrooms. A complete overhaul of the Primary Bathroom with an enlarged shower. Fully remodeled Secondary bathroom. New custom fireplace mantel in the Living room. New energy-efficient windows and bamboo wood flooring throughout. New trim work, door hardware, and architectural and decorative lighting. Choosing a single paint color for walls, ceiling, and trim reduced awkward sight lines. Custom bathroom vanities and cabinets increased storage where square footage was limited. New landscaping and an outdoor living space. A face lift to the exterior elevation included painted brick, a new shingle-style roof, and exterior lighting package.
